Department of Leisure & Hospitality Management Educational Objectives |
| This project is centered on cultivating international hospitality professionals with strong practical skills, employability, and immediate job readiness, in line with the development needs of the lodging and hospitality industries in Taiwan and Vietnam. It utilizes the curriculum design of the technical and vocational education system and industry–academia collaboration mechanisms to achieve the following educational objectives: |
| 1.Cultivate practically oriented professional talent for the hospitality industry |
| Guided by the core teaching philosophy of “learning by doing and doing while learning,” the program develops students’ frontline professional skills and standard operating procedures required in the lodging industry through hands-on courses in hotel management, food and beverage preparation, tourism services, and operations management, thereby enhancing their immediate employability and increasing companies’ willingness to retain them. |
|
| 2.Strengthen industry alignment and workplace practical competence |
| By integrating resources from hospitality-related industries in both Taiwan and Vietnam, the program plans corporate participation in teaching and off-campus internships to cultivate students’ work ethics, attitudes, and problem-solving abilities in real-world contexts, narrowing the gap between study and employment and improving retention rates. |
|
| 3.Develop cross-cultural service competence and international workplace adaptability |
| Through training in cross-cultural communication, reception etiquette, and practical service scenarios, the program helps students understand the differences between Taiwanese and Vietnamese hospitality cultures and service models, enabling them to work effectively in cross-cultural teams and adapt to international service workplaces. |
|
| 4.Enhance Chinese language proficiency and professional service communication skills |
| By reinforcing contextual training in Mandarin and hospitality-related professional language, the program enables students to provide effective and professional service communication in real-world settings such as hotel reception, food and beverage service, and guided tours. |
