1. Current conditions:

The Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering (DCSIE) of Nanya Institute of Technology was established in August, 2005. At first, one class of 4-year technology day division was recruited for 2005 academic years. From 2006 academic years, recruit 2 classes of 4-year technology day division, go to totally have 7 classes for 2008 academic years. Another 1 class 2-year technology holiday division was recruited to our study college in 2006 academic years. Totally have 8 classes currently for 2008 academic years, the student total number is about 450 students. The full-time teacher number is 9 (2 for associate professors, 3 for assistant professors, 4 for lecturers) and have 2 part-time teachers.

2. Educational target:

The education target of our department is to promote the information science and technology of student, make each classmate be able to have the communication of the computer network with the knowledge of the software program design, and obtain at least a license with related information science and technology. (Like the professional license of Cisco, SUN or Microsoft), expect that the classmate after graduating can become information industry of namely use a talented person. In addition, the classmate can also learn an artificial intelligence, the image processing, wireless network, built-in system, database according to interest with tiny calculate machine system design etc. Take an elective subject a curriculum to will work and continue in the future by establishing the foundation for entering higher school.

3. Educational strategy:

The technology school differs from general university, should regard actual situation to draft the following principles to make the budget arranged in devotion project:

(1). The curriculum design majors in a dedicated regions: Train a student to have a good at technical ability of the communication of the computer network or software program design before graduating.

(2). The curriculum content actual situation: The content taught have to match an enterprise need or currently the essential technique promoted by related information manufacturer.

(3). The special subject is oriented of enterprise direction and practice: The actual situation special subject developed by student has to year by year combine an enterprise need, program a student in the meantime the enterprise practice with curriculum.

(4). Produce to learn the communication of enterprise: Year by year extend to produce to learn the scale of the exchanges, make school and enterprise related to year by year and closely.

(5). The nations license promotes: Encourage teachers and the students to obtain nations or actual situation license.

(6). The encouragement innovates and development: The development ability of actual situation laboratory and encourages the innovation, patent application of special subject and starts a business in the meantime.

(7). The research of actual situation: Encourage a teacher to take the actual situation needed research.
