Department of Environmental Technology and Management
Educational Objectives
The Department aims to equip students with professional knowledge and skills in the field of "Environmental Technology and Management" and "Disaster Prevention and Management". The former focuses on the development of environmental engineering and green technology; the latter is to build disaster prevention and management mechanisms for dealing with natural disasters (such as safety inspection of building structures and disaster prevention management) and human disasters (such as fire, explosion, toxic chemicals).
Facilities
The department owns 10 Laboratories as listed below. These laboratories are well equipped and providing the students very good environment for practical skill training.
- Environmental technology laboratories include Air Pollution Control and Resource Recycling Lab, Environmental Disaster and Industrial Hazard Lab, Water Quality Analysis Lab, Indoor Air Quality Diagnostic Lab, Waste Analysis Lab and Environmental Unit Operation Lab.
- Disaster prevention and management laboratories include Engineering Materials Lab, Structural Mechanics Lab, Soil Mechanics Lab and Surveying Lab.

Student Career Development
Out graduates are qualified to work as environmental engineers, process and facility engineers, environmental sampling and analysts, environmental protection specialists, environmental safety and hygiene management personnel, disaster prevention management personnel, food safety and sanitation management personnel, environmental education narrators, eco-tourism and leisure service personnel.
