Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering

The Department was established in 2005. In recent years, in response to industry development trends and talent needs, the department has adjusted its development direction. In February 2024, it passed the "Higher Education Teaching Quality Assurance Service Plan" teaching evaluation, and in August 2024, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to set up the "Intelligent Technology and Application Division" and the "Systems and Network Engineering Division" with the goal of cultivating practical talents in related fields.

The development features and teaching focuses of each division are as follows:

1. Intelligent Technology and Application Division, Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering
   • Development Features: AIoT Life Technology Applications
   • Teaching Focus:
     • Internet of Things Applications: Focuses on the design and implementation of IoT applications, training students to develop IoT life applications and implement various smart manufacturing applications.
     • Big Data Analytics: Emphasizes big data analytics application technologies, including programming languages, visualization analysis, and cloud computing.
     • Drone Applications: Plans courses on drone assembly and calibration, leading students to understand the basic structure and principles of drones, and further learn industry-related skills such as agricultural spraying, reconnaissance, inspection, and 3D modeling.
     • Artificial Intelligence Applications: Uses AI technology to enhance practical application capabilities, such as robotics.
2. Systems and Network Engineering Division, Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering
   • Development Features: Based on "Computer Systems," "Software Engineering," and "Communication Networks," with a focus on information security technology and management.
   • Teaching Focus:
     • Computer Fundamentals: Cultivates students' basic knowledge and abilities in information and communication through courses such as computer introduction, operating systems, networks, and databases.
     • Information System Development: Develops students' abilities in information and communication system development and maintenance through programming language courses.
     • Embedded System Design: Combines applications such as autonomous vehicles and robots to cultivate students' practical skills in automated equipment control.
     • Information Security Management Practices: Focuses on the practical aspects of information security management, including technical and managerial aspects, training students in virtualization technology applications, network application management, and information security detection skills.
