Campus Overview
Our institute was established in 1969 (the 58th year of the Republic of China). The founder, Mr. Ni Ke-Ding, served as the first Chairman of the Board, and the current Chairman is Mr. Du Sheng-De. Dr. Wang Zhi-Hu, a distinguished educator, was the first President. In 1990, after Dr. Wang’s honorable retirement, the Board appointed Dr. Wang An as the second President. On August 1, 1995, Professor Huang Hong-Yu was appointed as the third President. On August 1, 2003, Professor Chen Jian-Zhi became the fourth President. On August 1, 2009, Professor Wang Chun-Yuan was appointed as the fifth President. On August 1, 2012, Professor Gao Wen-Xiu was appointed as the sixth President. On November 13, 2015, Professor Wang Yu-Jie became the seventh President. On August 30, 2017, Professor Jian Ren-De was appointed as the eighth President. On August 1, 2021, Professor Lian Xin-Zhong became the ninth President. On August 1, 2024, Professor Zhang Ren-Jia was appointed as the tenth President.

The institute was founded in 1969 under the name "Private Nanya Industrial Arts Technical College." In June 1973, it was renamed "Private Nanya Industrial Technical College." In 1993, with the addition of the Department of Information Management, it was further renamed "Private Nanya Institute of Technology and Commerce." Due to its outstanding performance in education, the institution was upgraded to "Nanya Institute of Technology" in July 2000. On February 1, 2012, to align with the development of Taoyuan Metropolis and highlight its innovative educational features, the institution was renamed "Taoyuan Innovation Institute of Technology." On August 1, 2016, it reverted to the name "Nanya Institute of Technology." On March 27, 2018, it established the only Ministry of National Defense-certified ROTC professional university.
